MA Social Work

MA Social Work in social-spatial contexts

The consecutive Master programme starts from current questions in Social Work involving the development of a framework for und a self-understanding of Social Work in relation to social space – especially in rural areas.

The degree qualifies students for the active development of Social Work in leading professional positions, research, evaluation and/or teaching. Graduates are eligible to do a PhD and for the higher grade of the civil service.

Theory and practise are directly linked in the courses and based on the experiences of the students. Focal questions are current debates and challenges in society, policy and Social Work. Diversity and inclusion are seen as interwoven issues.

Courses are delivered in a didactically balanced combination of face-to-face and e-Learning formats. Thus the course of study is also open to students from other areas or students with families.
