Centre for the Preservation of World Cultural Heritage

The primary mission of the Hornemann Institute is to promote research and training in the field of preservation of cultural heritage, especially through world-wide knowledge transfer for conservators via Internet. The Hornemann Institute is involved in a lot of national and international projects. The centre is founded for the EXPO 2000 and since 2003 a state-funded institute of the HAWK.

Promoting the training programme

With financial help of our supporting society we promote to the public the significance of the conservation of cultural heritage, e.g. by projects with and for schools.

The team includes experts on the preservation, restoration and conservation of monuments as well as IT specialists supported by students.
